Despite initial concerns that the UE46B8000's edge-based LED lighting might heavily compromise the TV's picture quality in the name of nothing more substantial than a little extra design slimness, as well as another set of dismal image presets, this is a TV to be reckoned with.

Indeed, after a bit of initial recalibration and in the right room conditions, its pictures actually seem to back up Samsung's claims that edge-based LED lighting is potentially a superior picture quality technology to direct RGB LED lighting. And I don't mind admitting that nobody could be more surprised about that than me.

The Samsung UE46B8000 is astonishingly slim, packed full of features and incredibly easy to wall mount. With its myriad of connection options and flawlessly clear and smooth picture quality we think you would be very hard pushed to find anything else that even comes close to this exceptional LED TV

"I bought the Samsung UE46B8000 LED having read many reviews about it,to replace an old sony lcd,it really is thin compared to my old sony,the must publicsed widgets are easy to use but having to fork out for the wireless dongle needed to access the internet is short sighted on samsung's part,overall HD pics are excellent as well as standard def stuff,feed it skyHD or BD pictures and you will be impressed..

The UE46B8000 is another stunning TV from Samsung. There are so many things about this TV that we adore. The picture quality is epic, the design is a thing of beauty and the extra features are both useful and fun. We noticed that the backlight did give rise to some patchiness, although this is only really a problem with pure-black pictures. Overall, it's a pricey but remarkable TV. Do consider the slightly cheaper B7000 range if this is above your financial comfort zone.
